Vortech YSi dyno vid.
Over the winter I added some mods to the car. Installed a Midwest 9" rear (3:50 gear), changed back to the Vortech aftercooler (w/ modified 3" inlet) with a custom 5 gal. water tank in the trunk and a dual fan front mount heat exchanger (12" x 24"), went from a 214/224 cam to a Speed Inc. SC4 cam (232/240), Racetronix 79 lb. high impedence injectors and dual electric cutouts. I took off my meth kit for now so this is with pump gas and ice in the water tank. You can hear me open the cutouts right before I lay into it. It made 772 rwhp/764 rwtq. at 17 degrees timing. After I do further tuning at the track I think I can get it over 800. It peaked at 5400 so maybe I should have gone even bigger with the cam. As soon as I can I'm going to the track to see if I can get a 9 second slip.

It's still got a 4l60e, If it doesn't hold it will get an 80. It's always been an auto. I'm not sure on boost because it wasn't logged and I was watching the tach. I'll look at it when I'm running out second and third at the track, I'll say appr. 16 or so probably.

I lost 3 lbs. boost when I did the FMIC. I then switched the MAF (when I had one) to the pressure side and got 2 lbs. back. I did like the air/air for being lighter, cooling quicker (vs heated water) and simplicity. Because I'm trying to attain 3 new goals 9 sec. qtr. 140+ trap and 800 rwhp I thought the air water would be better. I like being able to run ice water through the cooler on hot summer days.
Air/air setup is for sale.

Yeah if it is a 427 I would have put a tad bit bigger cam in it, but looks great logging the boost will tell you alot about you power band also like is it gradually making more boost or falling off. That will cause your power band to do the same thing I would have thought it would have peaked a little higher also. But it looks and sounds great!

Looks good. So if I undertsood right, getting rid of the air/air setup and a cam change netted you a 85rwhp gain. Thats prety damn good! Whats also impressive is that it did it with 2 degree less timing.
If I am not mistaken, Speed Inc's SC4 cam (232/240) is very similar(identical) to EPP's blower cam, which I think is too small for a 427. I had it in my 402 and it was peaking way too early as well.

I also added a cog drive with a 26 tooth pulley (I think appr. 2.5") a speed density tune and cutouts. I'm hoping I can take it over 800, I'll see if there is anything I can add at the track (as far as timing and possibly running leaner) and then possibly revisit the dyno. I'm using the race bypass valve fed back into the intake tube like the original kit.
