Default New turbo setup bleeding boost...??????

I have a kentucky turbo t78 setup and my car is not holding boost. Had the car dyno tuned and it was losing load on the dyno... Had a leaky rear main and factory clutch so figured that was the issue... clutch slip. Well just installed a monster lvl4 and went out for a test run and still have the same problem. The car comes into boost at about 3k rpm hits about 5psi and starts dropping down to about 3psi by redline. This car is not even putting down enough to spin the tires in first gear.. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

check your coldside plumbing, vacuum hoses intake gasket ,for leaks . if no leaks were found than i would check the wastegate.

The cold side has been gone over a couple times. The vacuume hoses have been checked... The wastegate does not appear to be leaking no exhaust around flanges... The only thing that could be the problem is the intake gaskets but have no idea how I would check those?

Its a turbosmart gate with a 7psi spring being controlled by the turbo.

Yea it seems to be running just fine. It looked great on the dyno other than losing load making the boost bleed.

Would my boost bleeding off possiably be because of where the wastegate is referenced from? If I moved it from off the turbo to the intake would that maybe fix my prob?

i would reference the manifold vise the turbo itself. i have a hobbs switch on my turbo to run my second fuel pump. and depending on throttle % i can make it turn the pump on at different manifold boost levels.

Are you using the right port on the gate? I'm running off of my gate and see 7-8lbs and have mine referenced off of the manifold.

You're talking about at WOT correct? It should go slightly above and then the wastegate should open to lower the psi

the waste gates not always going to be dead accurate. i have a 7psi spring and run 10psi. is it a huge gate? as long as its steady I'd call it good. if you want more use a controller.

The gate is a turbosmart 38. It seems to be steady from looking at the boost guage. I guess ill know more when I find another tuner to finish it...

Are you logging it and thats how you know how much boost you are running or are you just guessing? I have a turbosmart 38mm ultra gate also with the 7lb spring, thats why I ask

Use a different reference......off the intake instead of the turbo scroll.

Yeah im using the port on the intake where the pcv was hooked up for the reference for wastegate and using the brake booster hose for the reference for my boost guage...
