I understand your comment but, going to 4" pipe after the k-member(basicaly mid-way) isn't going to make much difference because of the cooling of gases, meaning the volume is much less at that area of the system. I do agree that coming directly off the housing to a larger pipe is optimum for flow(less back pressure)

I'm going to build one downpipe for strip only, going out through the right side of the bumper, so it's about 3ft long. Will 4" be sufficient for some 900-1000Hp? Or should I try and put some larger bore?
Also I can't imagine how much will it move vertically when engine rotates on it's mounts... I'm afraid it would be some 2 inches easily?
