Default Looking for 700RWHP

Just tossing around the idea of selling all my nitrous stuff and going FI. I've been wanting to do it for a long time and now is a better time than any.

I'm gonna do a 383 with either a D1SC or a F1C. Don't really know what heads or cam or anything else.

Is it possible to see that mark? What do you guys recommend as far as internals, heads, cam go? I'm most likely going to go with Lloyd for the Heads and cam then do a single plane with an elbow.

The rest of the car is pretty much ready for it, Dana 60, 4.10's, BMR full suspension, K member, Tick Performance 6 speed.

What do you guys think?

Take a look in my project car section, 700 rwhp is very easy to obtain.

I have all the necessary parts at this link. For 700 rwhp I would put two Walbro pumps together. Bob

D1SC will get you there... but that will be the max on an LTx setup. You will need probably ~16-18psi to get there.

I would work on getting your current setup running right as it sits now. The experience of solving your missing power issues now will only benefit you down the road with all the hickups you will experience with FI.

Oops! Definitely harder to do with an LT1, but all you need is a good flowing set of heads. Bob

So would a F1C be a better choice? I wouldn't want to be maxing out the blower and would want a little room to grow.

I plan on working the bugs out of my setup now. I am just at a point that I need to start figuring out what internals I want to go with on my 383, and I would rather go FI. So, I figured I would get everything matched up for FI instead of for the nitrous that way when the Bottom end is done I can start going from there. Know what I mean? I'd rather plan ahead now and have everything right when the time comes.

I talked to Lloyd a few weeks back when I was going to stay with nitrous, and we were thinking either the new TFS heads or some AFR 227's. Both ported by him of course. And I would also do a Victor E manifold with a 860 Elbow.

If you want room to grow past 700rwhp... I'd go with the F1 then instead of the D1.

Planning ahead like you are doing is a good way to.

the afr 227's, vic jr intake and a F1 you would be set with plenty of room to grow. you would make 700 not pushing it! you will need to change those 4:10's tho! maybe a 3:54! thats as high as you can go in the dana 60!

Yeah, I thought about that too.

But, this project won't be done for a few years. Like I said, I just need to figure out what internals I need now. Then move on from there.

If anything I may try to keep the 4.10's and then run a 15x10 15x3.5 Billet setup with 325/50R15's year round.

But who knows what the future will hold, LOL.

I agree with everyone, I would go with an F-1A as if will allow you room to grow down the road, and it won't be worked as hard. It is the same diameter as the D-1SC, but it uses a 5.40/1 gear ratio instead of the 4.10/1 in the P and D series. As a result you end up with a larger blower pulley on the head unit which gives you better belt wrap. The F-1A can also make 3 to 4 more psi than the D-1SC can. Bob
