Who has good luck with a turbo

Who has good luck with a turbo Thinking of doing a Turbo LS1 setup in a 67-69 Camaro and looking for input.
I see alot of people on this board having problems with turbo kit's on LS1's
What are the main problems I should look out for?
The motor will be built as a 8.5-1 or 9-1 compression setup.
I would custom make all piping so turbo placement won't be a problem.
How much boost can the stock computer take(tuning wise) ?
Right now I run my wifes 70k mile GN at 16lbs on pump gas with no problems.

most of the problems with the ls1 turbo kit are caused by space restrictions.but as far as the ls1 goes the stock computer should be able to handle atleast 15psi but tuning will be dificult at that level 15psi is about the limit at what the heads will take befrore they start to lift and cause major problems. also a header style turbo manifold would help the ls1 a lot in terms of performance a lag.
It's way easier to turbocharge a first gen than a fourth for sure, I've done both. Not having strut towers 4 inches from the exhaust ports and the windshield covering half the engine is a big help when doing custom plumbing.
