Boost and the LS3...
What all would be required in making a setup on the LS3 to withstand 15-20#'s of boost on a consistant basis? Also the same goes for the L99?
I am not fully knowledgeable on the LS3 or the L99. I would assume different rods and possibly pistons would be a must, but past that I really don't have any idea.
Specifically thinking years down the road when the new Camaro has been out for a while and there are turbo kits available what all would be needed.

Ben, my brother has an 08 C6 with a Novi 2200 (slightly larger than our D1SC's at 1450cfm) ECS installed it. It makes 580rwhp/57xrwtq (restrictor plate) and with an single nozzle of alky control at 8lbs of boost. This is with only a few boltons (stock motor) and stock 6L80E. Runs 10.5's at 135.

Specifically, I am trying to find out what are the weak links of the LS3 or L99? I want to know what would need to be replaced in order to run a moderate to high amount of boost (15-20#'s) on a consistant basis.
Bob, was that a LS3 in that Hummer? It seemed like you guys went all out on it.
I am just wanting to know as a minimum, what would need to be replaced on the stock LS3 or L99 in order for it to take the moderate to high boost and stay safe for the engine.

Anybody can slap a blower on a LSX, and if you run low boost, it will probably even last for a while.

ERL is SICK! Plain and simple... Good for whatever you want. haha
"Boost" should not be the question, Desired Horsepower is the correct term... hell you can run 20# and not flow squat... My Grand National runs 20-25 all the time on a bone stock engine, but it only makes mid 400s.
The Ls3 can be built to handle any number you want to run, the block wont be the issue.

love the block. love the work they did.
i wanted a daily driveable 1000 horse car. where i didnt have to worry about it so much. i heard a few guys push the stock ls3 sleeves out so i just decided to have ERL re sleeve it. and had them do the brass bushing in the lifter spots.
what a great group of guys.
now you said reasonable prices. that is a loaded question. i thought they were good. but i also got 6K in my interenals. so it was worth it to me.

Hey I can't wait to see the numbers as well. I'm in London Kentucky tonight and then we leave in the morning to Bristol TN. I took our ERL C5 Vette with our newly installed ERL 500 CI LS2 Superdeck II turnkey engine. We installed it on Tuesday and then I drove up to Dayton, OH on Wed. for the Hot Rod Power Tour. What a fun tour. If you all haven't done this before you need to. It's a blast and I tell you the car is so much fun.

ERL,
you guys did great work on my motor. and it looks great. a little bro needs a motor and i think even if horse is never going to be as high as mine. i will still have you do blcok work and lifter bushings.
thanks again

I was on there web site yesterday, The prices seem reasonable to me, for what they do. I watched the videos to, I think they just might have one of the best blocks out there. I have a STAGE 2 APS kit, I really like there
