Girdle looks awesome! Very nice.
Steve Petty always told me they had the best luck with the double o-ring setup when they were running the SBF in the 10.5 Outlaw car (Tim Lynch), I think they ran 217 mph with 10 head bolts? That's a nice service to offer to the racers.

Are there any block/head limitations on which you'd be able to machine the double o-ring (e.g., Gen IV blocks, but not Gen III (like for Katech's piston squirters), or only untouched blocks, but not resleeved ones, or iron blocks only, etc.)?

At what Hp/TQ level would a girdle start being a benefit on a regular 6.0 iron block? I know girdles are heavily used in the Turbo Buick community, but that's because of our relatively weak blocks, but I thought the iron blocks and LSX block were supposed to have a pretty tough bottom end? Would this essintially make them bullet proof? Also would this allow the stock crank to live at higher HP?
Im still in the planning stages for my engine, but all of my current vehicles are on their way out of the shop to make room for something nasty. Im going to start building the engine first, and buy something to put it in when I see something I like for a good deal... Im literally building the project around the engine haha!

Same thing I thought was the LSx was a tough bottom end. The billet main girdle should make the LSx bullet proof. As far as HP level, IMO anything over 1400hp should have a girdle. Mine should be fired this weekend.

I'm curious about the 317 heads as well...I've got the iron 6.0 block and 317 heads sitting here...debating having it done. The rotating assembly for my all forged 370 is all here new in boxes as well. Also curious if you have any different thickness head gaskets for the setup?

Hello Virginia Speed.....
While looking for the best Main Cap Girdle, I found this Forum last night... COOL !
My engine is an RHS tall deck, 3.75" stroke, set up for twin 94s, and I want a truly bullet proof bottom end.
Can I purchase the Girdle by itself, without the ARP hardware and machining, as I can do that stuff myself ?
Also, how thick is your Girdle ?
I'm assuming it's made from high grade 4140 steel or similar....
If it's available, and the specs check out, I would need this Girdle immediately.
Thanks,
Titanium Man

Why do you need 3600hp worth of turbo on a 400'' engine?

Twin 88's, not 94's OOOPS ! (typo....my bad)....
Hi Shawn
The reason I asked if your Girdle could be purchased without the ARP hardware and without the machining, is that my RHS block is at ARP right now, being fitted for hardware, and then It's going back to the machine shop.... I just thought maybe I could save some transit/fab time, and do everything locally....
IF I shipped you my block, what's your turnaround time ?
I'm 9 weeks behind, and SEMA is not going to wait for anybody.....
Thank you
