Your Thoughts On My Plan
Well, I think I have decided on a plan for a new car and setup.
I have found a few cars that are stock, between 30,000 & 40,000 miles on them.
I have always wanted a turbocharged/supercharged car so here is what I would like to do:
2000-2002, LS1
Auto
I would like to add a Procharger D-1SC kit (if I can find one for the right price). Since the bottom end is stock on the cars I am looking at I have a couple thoughts.
1.) Adding a set of truck heads to lower the compression so I can run a little more boost.
2.) Meth Injection kit (how expensive are these to run? how long does a gallon of meth last?)
3.) ???? Would adding ARP rod bolts help keep the bottom end together longer?
4.) Moser 9" rear, with 3:73s, alum, center section
5.) 3400 stall
Any feedback on this setup? How much power on a conservative tune?
I will be getting a forged bottom end in about a year.
Oh yea, what is the going rate to install a Procharger kit?
Thanks,
Bill

If you plan on forging the moter in the future I would just bolt the procharger to the stock engine as it is and keep the boost down. Get a set of the 317 heads and save them for the new bottom end. Then you'll have a brand new engine to beat on, and it would suck to send a pison in to new heads and have to rebuild everthing. You can get a meth kit that will help the stock moter and can be used on the new engine. Also what are your plans for the fuel system?
