i beleive the second one ( belt driven one ) will be an alky. setup.

Does the alky get sprayed in through the injectors only? How would the alky have time to cool the charge if they are meeting together in the cylinder?

im betting that the fist motor is an alky motor hence the 16 injectors

the 2nd motor can get way with no intercooler because the carb will actually cool the in coming air
