From my understanding the pistons will be the weakest point int the reciprocating assembly. But ive been running 10 psi daily for over a year now on a stock bottom.
Now for tuning get tunercats..very affordable and easy to use.
Get some 42lb injectors and a 255 pump and be set on the fuel.
One other thing that can be an issue is valve springs. They are not strong enough to close the valve with enough boost and rpm.Thats pretty much it.Run an intercooler to stay away from detonation and be set.

Forged rods/pistons

stock heads + mild comp cam

60# injectors + 255 intank/hotwire

tune

.... and a T76... should hit 500rwhp on 8-10psi.

I used to have that cam in my Nitrous setup. Loved the cam. 12.0 on motor, 11.1 @ 121 on a 100 shot. Do you have a video of it idling?
Here it is in my car back in 2000

Who knows how long it will last for, but id say if you ran a similar short block, got a d1sc head unit and fabbed up a ebay fmic youd make 500 pretty reliably.

Sts kit is cheap and easy HP picked one brand new with factory upgraded turbo i found on craigslist for $2k. after that injectors and fuel pump about another 500hundy, and boost at 8psi or so with good tune ive seen ppl put down 500 all day well actually idk those were ls1s but anyway Sts is cheap power. i see nothing wrong with the kits
