You have to ask APS. Its a custom housing, same one used on the C6Z setup, just machined for a MHI CHRA.

I would be curious to know what your P/Rs are with your current setup. My new turbine wheel has drastically reduced exhaust back pressure and increased flow substantially. Its the main reason we are still able to make such high power levels with out running into a back pressure issue. We will at some point run into a restriction with the housing, thats next. The new turbine wheel will carry us pretty far, its years ahead of the stock unit. IIRC, it was circa 1990 or 1993 that that turbine wheel was from. Its standard Old school MHI stuff.

Devin,

You will see on a 346, the spool time was 1000 rpms later than the stock 20G. The upgraded turbos spool 2-300 later than the stock 20G.

Thats a 7-800 RPM difference with the smaller housings on a 346.

Damn you!! LOL

Seriously your car should rock now with the new 402 and the new snails. I would order me up a set too but still saving for my auto trans so the snails will have to wait a bit.
At least so far my stockers are still working ok with no spyhunter smokescreen even without the scavenger pump installed. Just keep them low boost to get me thru the season hopefully. Plenty of time over winter to bolt on the upgraded snails.

Be looking foward to your new dyno and maybe track numbers.

Yeah had a bit of a phone bill on my end too. We can talk on xbox live if you have a 360!

I keep forgetting its not a 402. It will still be nice step up and should rev quick.
My 408 revs pretty decent actually no complaints.

Maybe will sell off a few things that have lying around and can get the upgrade turbos sooner than winter. Season is short up here end of october its time to put the cars away and they usually don't get out till april 1. Sucks but at least you don't feel guilty working on them over the winter.

You Cali guys are so lucky!

Don't hate me guys but so far at 7.5 psi my standard turbos are running just fine. No smoke no oil dripping nothing. But as Louis said likely they are ok at the standard supplied gate pressure its when you start to push them that they crap out.I have think around 1500 miles on the aps kit now. Zero problems really. No overheating in 90 degree temps so far either. I don't always run my air though sometimes just have windows down and ttops off.
I have done nothing special for cooling. 160 stat, fans come on just above that. Have added redline water wetter. Not sure how it will be on 100 degree days but we dont' get that many of those and don't have to drive the car those days.

I might crank them up near end of season just to see what happens since pretty much decided to upgrade them over winter. I can't have Tom being faster than me! LOL

Looking forward to track and dyno number with the upgraded snails. Not sure I will even bother to dyno on the standard turbos this season. and not sure will get to the track either depends if get new trans.

I think someone should take some nice pics of the swap. So sounds like while the drivers could be swapped in easily with k member on the car pretty much have to take it off to do the passenger side anyway. Not a huge deal but car needs to keep going for alignments if you drop kmember or could a guy mark it ??

Yep, like I said, and I try to be totally honest- Most wont see issues, but there are a TON of people With issues, so this is why we did what we did

Question for Louis. I am thinking to get your upgraded turbos likely in a few months and install them over winter.
You can see my mods in my sig. I have that gt7 cam currently. Specs are nearly identical to the z06 cam..
05-07 ZO6 cam 210/230 .561/.557 –120.5 LSA
Lingenfelter GT7 208/230 .554/.546 –121CL

I like the fact the cam has no lope and just wondering will this cam still be fine to 6500 or occasionally 7000 with the upgraded snails. I think feel the power falling off a bit even at 8psi on current turbo past about 6000. So is the cam the problem and the standard turbos or just the turbos. I like the fact the cam has no surge and no lope. That suits me just fine.
