Switching exhaust setup for FI
I ran tonight at the track and my car goes 10.40's at 2800' DA, my best runs (10.teens) were well under 1000'. Anyway I changed from my Kooks 'catted' Y and Magnaflow cat back to the system in the pictures above and raced tonight.
Results
1st pass = 10.47/129 with the cutout closed running through the Kooks ORY, Flowmaster merge, and 3.5" custom I pipe I made into the Magnaflow catback.
2nd pass = 10.43/129 with the cutout open bypassing the Magnaflow.
4 weeks ago at similar DA I ran 10.44, 10.45, 10.43 through the Kooks catted Y and stock Magnaflow I pipe with no Merge.
Basically the change in exhaust didn't do squat! So I can't imagine making any more power on the dyno. Maybe it would at higher boost levels, but I am skeptical. I am dynoing at 609RWHP from last year and have ran 10.16, 10.17/133 with this setup in good air.
I would think with your power you should be running 9.0's. What does your car run? Mine is heavy like yours also.
However every ET and HP calculator with my weight and trap put me at 780ish to the wheels even with that 10.02 pass. So, I'm not sure if the belt going out lost me anything since I'm sure the blower was still spinning some for a second and the motor didn't have the strain of spinning it.
If you can get traction and no belt slip .
Oh forgot to ask what block are you using?? heads and cam??
LS1 Block. Haha. AFR 205's, custom blower cam: 224/232 .581/.585 115LSA. I think I'm about 100lbs heavier than MM, but it should still be good. We'll see what happens in the fall
. Man thats even more impressive wow
your car is on of the top 10 street cars in LSX World for sure now just back that up with 9sec runs
