Default 5.3 and s480? yes/no?

well i was going to go s475 at first then i figured id keep it simple and go MPT70....... now it looks like i maybe gettin a s480........ did i just "over cam my car" am i gettin a turbo t obig for my motor. i like that i should never outgrow it but in the early stages will to be to big and not work right.
early stages lookin for 600 at the wheels then slowely more to 1000. just lookin for some input. i know its a turbo and you will spend 01X more than you want but im still tryin this on a budget.

stats. nothing is set in stone yet other that i already have the 5.3, th400, ls1 head, intercooler.
forged pistons stock 5.3 bore
forged rods
stock crank.
stock LS1 heads with upgraded spring.
lookin for 9-9.5 CR
LS6 intake
i have a 32x12x4 intercooler

th400
RMVB
TB
tight stall (3200-3600)
28 10.5 et drags

low boost early stages sotck 3.23 10bolt
later the 9in out of 01 car with spool and 3.55s

i already have the 5.3 i bought it complete all acces PCM harness all for only 150. has a bad cam and 2 lifters. but those will get replaced anyways.

What cam and torque converter? I have a S475 on my truck with a 370 engine, it spools the turbo fine. I would think the 5.3 would be laggy depending on the cam and converter..

I say run it stock for now. If you are one of the type that can deal with a small bit of lag...

more than likely its gonna be a stock 5.3 at first. lag means nothing its gonna be a pure drag car with just enough i can take it through a parade or something like that other wise 99% drag car.... one day i want 150mph trap speed
