Default injector upgrade with no tuning question

I have a GMC Yukon with a Procharger. The setup uses an inline pump and an FMU. I'm gonna be dropping in 43lb injectors in the near future, but I'll need to drive the truck to a shop about 40 miles away to get the PCM tuned. Will it be okay to drive in that condition? Also, for the trip to the tuner, should I disconnect the FMU? Thanks.

if you were going with something in the 30lb to 36lb range you could get away with it, PCM still has enough authority with L-trims to make up for the injectors. 42's are just too big.

Install them when you get there, your engine will thank you

Yeah, it only takes a few minutes to install the injectors - just get all the tools together and do it when you get there.

if the car happens to have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator on it, you could install them and crank the pressure back until it will idle.. but otherwise above.

MM, great idea! I was just thinking the same thing the other day . . . my car is throwing the KR codes where it thinks they're dead . . . P0327 and P0332 ( I think ). I'm wondering if LS1-Edit isn't causing this ( I've heard of others having the same problem ). I've already replaced them, no dice. So I want to put the car back to stock, but I also have 42lb injectors. So I thought, I've got an adjustable FPR, why not just crank it down? You just confirmed my thoughts exactly, thanks! I just need it to idle for a while to see if it sets the same codes.

I haven't actually used it but the fmu has an adjuster screw to lean out the air/fuel for larger injectors. Maybe you can adjust that and then get rid of the fmu at the tuning shop. I saw it in the installation manual.
