Yeah where you at on that one? I think if you're givin props on him doin it himself then you should be to instead of having yours done in a shop...
Either way Im jealous because my engine doesnt have a shiny turbo next to it but still, why dont you do yours, yourself too?
On the right side of things, always love a good DIY build, keep the pics and info comin.

Thanks everyone, it has been pretty fun and challenging at the same time so far.

Been welding for a few years, but just for fun. Using the same old 110v lincoln welder (mig) but just recently started playing with argon. BIG difference in weld quality between using shielded wire and solid wire w/argon.

Give you a few tips, when welding anything 1/4" or over, shielded wire (no gas) makes a much easier and better bond, but kinda messy. ANYTHING under 1/4", use argon with solid wire, nice smooth welds, no splatter.

You can learn to weld VERY easy with about $500 +150 if you use argon (bottle fee and fillup) and to get a decent 110v lincoln welder. I started out just using some scrap metal and welding them together, playing around with wire speed and heat range. Welding is pretty fun man and once you start building crap with scrap metal, sticks, angle or flat and it turns out decent, makes it all worth it.

Thanks, the cobalt map sensor is a 2.5 bar, suppostly easy for tuners to use when going from a maf to speed density. I will find out soon!

Yeah, I get my mind set to something I can sometimes make it happen a little quicker. I would love to see a 9 second pass, but I think with the 6speed and all I will be limited to mid 10's @ 13x making 650rwhp. SS weighs in at about 3400lbs with the wheels/tires and all extra crap taken out.

I will keep ya'll posted!

stock manifolds have been proven well past 1000 hp....
that and it's a cheap alternative to custom headers.

Thanks! Working a little bit everyday on it. Fixing to start taking it all back apart to wrap the pipes, powder coat the intake tubes, paint the core back to white and try to clean up the engine bay a little.

I was a little skeptical when I 1st started reading about 6.0 truck manifold turbo setups but they have been proven to make extremely good power, even as much as 1000+rwhp.

Yep! Just the 2 u-bends is all it takes. I am in the same boat saving alot of scrap metal throughout the years and now I am finally putting to use. I had alot of exhaust pipe left over from projects vary from 2" - 4". Takes alot of patience and grinding (which sucks).
