STS turbo kit
What do you guys think of the remote mount sts turbo kits. I will be putting it in my 88 suburban with a lq4 thats factory. Just looking for a little more power for fun no other reason. I found one from a member on here used for a very reasonable price it has a 67mm garret turbo and a 38mm tial blow off and all the plumbing and everything. it is non intercooled.

it will be 1730 bucks shipped to my door. I already have a performance tune headers and a cold air, and it runs pretty well. Its just a toy so I will try it. But for that price is it a good deal? Oh yeah what fuel pump should I go with?

i think you should avoid a rear mount turbo, if you want more fun do heads and cam. and if it is not intercooled you are going to get heat soaked quick, unless you have meth.

I used to have one on my 98 T/a. They are fun, since you are off the ground quite a bit more, you won't run into as many issues as I did. I would get an intercooler, you can get them cheap used, meth is pretty expensive these days.

$1730 !!! That's nice man congrats. that's how much the kit should coast New IMO.. Upgraded turbo also I see.. Your going to need injectors. And a (BAP) boost a pump.. You won't really need a intercooler if you only plan on running stock boost 6psi ..allthought it can't hurt :-) Who said heat soak?? The turbo is in the rear ;-)

It is a fact that non-intercooled remote mount kits heat soak SLOWER than non-intercooled front mount kits.

^^^this is true, .... your exhaust runs parallel to your turbo pipes wrap your stock exhaust to give you more power if you dont decide to intercool or meth your system.. my suggestion is to buy an intercooler for your suburban to gain some power and save $$ especially if you decide to run more than 5lbs of boost...also it would look badass
