Default Boost-A-Pump w Hotwire kit/Oil pump

Has anyone added the boost-a-pump to the hotwire kit? If so, will there be any issues if I add that WITH the oil scavenge pump already wired onto the hotwire???? I don't want to burn out the pump.. any feedback would be appreciated!!

I don't understand why you would reference your oil pump off of the same wire, use the signal wire and run a separate relay and get a power distribution block to feed power to it.

At the time it was the easiest thing to do. And it has been working just fine. But now I need the boost-a-pump for my retune...


In any case.. is it safe to do? Anyone?

Boosta pump wont get u past 550 on one walbro. A hot wire kit on the pump is enough for 550. The problem is one pump you may need 2.

ohh wait.. You have the oil pump tied in with the fuel pump? Thats a bigg nono. The pump is fighting for voltage and will make it over heat. The scavenger pump needs a seprate 12v source. Whats funny is I have been running my mocal off the acc plug in the car for a little over a year. You shouldent tie in anything in the fuel pump. And a hotwire kit can only run one pump ask me how I know lol.

I figured if its upping the volts as u go into boost, ud actually b better off with the hotwire AND the boost-a-pump.. but im no pro with this stuff.

I would source a 12v source just for the scavenger pump its not hard use the ground on wire on the pump and run it to a source that pumps out 12 vs.

Boosta pump is the same as a hot wire kit. But the boosta pump will increase it wot. A hot wire will go up as the volts go up on the alt. I run 2 hot wire kits for both pumps. The second one I built my self. I used all parts for it from vato zone

I have the hotwire kit on wrong now that I look... (Put it on the battery apparently - someone else had done it.) Oops. I am already at 500rwhp on mustang dyno - so with the Boost-A-Pump I should be better off now.

I'll just have to get the oil pump rewired.. What will I need? Any links? Everyones help is appreciated!

You can put the hotwire on the battery or alt. The alt is way better tho. If you have the sts pump and harness its easy hell run the hot wire to a 12 v source. To wire up the pump you just need a switched 12v power source that is relayed so when you turn your key foward the pump comes on. I have my pump on a switch that I turn on myself with a dummie light in case the pump fails.

Yea that STS harness I had received was royally F-ed by the previous owner. and the pump is turbowerx not STS. I'll run with the info u guys gave, thanks a lot!

OH! By the way - if i have to go twin pumps, will i need to upgrade the fuel lines to line FAST? or anything? Thanks

was gonna post in fuel section but figured u guys have the same setups, etc.
