TC78 or PTE78 for LS2?
Im going to be ordering my turbo soon and was looking for opinions. Im ditching the nitrous setup for a turbo this year in my 350z. Im trying to decide which turbo I want to go with. Space is a concern but can be worked around if needed. Is the TC78 too small for the LS2? I plan on keeping the engine size the same with just rods/pistons when I build it. I hear a lot of good things about the TC78 I just fear it might be too small for my setup. I plan on taking the engine to 6500rpms max. For the first part of next year the kit will be run on a stock motor to make sure all the bugs are sorted out. Cam will be 224/224-ish. This is a 99% street car with the occasional trip to the track. I don't want a turbo that has instant spool(I actually enjoy the lag) and then dies out up top. Which one would you guys go with? And any opinions. Ill be doing the C6 manifolds with cross over setup. Also..does anyone happen to have a side by side comparison of the two turbos? Thanks.

A .96 spools super quick on a 346 so i don't see a 1.15ar being a problem on a 364 LS2 and will give you more top end potential.
If your tight for space the TC78 wins hands down, but prob won't have quite the same ultimate power potential.

The TC78 is tough to beat. With a 1.15A/R housing it rocks on the top end and still spools like a magnacharger...lol. We sell tons of them to many LSX based folks.....they love them. Several on here have made some SERIOUS power when pushed. Most of these guys are street drivers though, and an honest 600rwhp is MORE then a handful on the street with any tire short of a full blown slick. The PTE is a great unit as well and uses a little larger turbine wheel, but the compressor wheel is the same as the TC's.

Im also looking at the PT88..it seems like it MIGHT be what im looking for as well..any thoughts? Once I take my front end off ill see JUST how much room I have..but I think i might be able to fit it forward facing off the passenger side.
