Thumbs up Chevy 6.0 heads

Found a pair of 03'silverado 6.0 heads with 500 miles on them
on a truck at the junk yard for $140.00 but i have too take them off myself.
These are better than the LS1 heads for boost correct?
Lowers the compression 9.5?
Will they give me power N/A?
Good price?
Thanks , Matt

yes they wil work well with boost.

as for making power NA, ive never seen dyno numbers but valvegod said they give you a little more power NA with the better ports.

now just buy yourself a set of cometic head gaskets that are thicker than stock
and that will drop the C.R. even more
I am going the same route as you and
I will let you know what CR#s I come up with

We can get you a custom set of Cometic gaskets to work with those heads.

I sell cometics for around 80.00 each locally
out of our shop but nate might be able to get you a better deal
the nice thing about them is they are reusable!!!!

I am not going to be able to get the CR I want with that combo so I am ordering a set of pistons
to set me up around 7 to 7.5:1
that way I can run around 17-19 PSI on pump
gas
just like my old turbo regals!!!!!!!

What size turbo you going to run?(Spanktu)
From what I am told I need a 4.00 Gasket Correct?
Ok With the compression stock 10.2:1(I believe) I was going to run about 9psi with the stock motor. Now with the 6.0 heads witch lowers the compression what can I boost Saftly at like 10psi or 12 psi????

I have a t-70,
they have a factory gasket size that I believe
is a 3.900...not sure on the exact #

9 psi is not safe on a non intercooled car
I believe STS was shooting methanol on their
8psi car to suppress the detonation

I would say 9 will be safe after the head/gasket
combo on a STS setup with no cooling agent

My 6.0 GTP st 2 are ported to give a 9.1-1 CR
Never tested, but that is what they said.
The flow #'s where outstanding!!!!!
If they go on FI, thicker gasket and port job lower comp. mill them and it should bring it up a bit.
I ran 8 psi for a while on stock block, now im running 11.
Good #'s
$140.00 is a steel!!!
i think a core on those is about 600!
Good deal.

Im running stock size. gtp said stock with the port they did (cant remember cc) the CR would be around 9.1-1
I havent checked it, but my new set up will be a low comp 346 and i'll be running these same heads with 15 psi give or take.
wont be done for a while tho.
