Hmm interesting can't see how they can possibly do anything unless the aps ones were leaking boost.

I said his car seemed to run ok. He has since sold it. Josh sounds like he knows his stuff so you can go with his recommendation.I have just always had great luck with tial and turbosmart gates and blow offs.I have been into turbo cars for years with my dsms.

Turbosmart makes several types. Some recirc only. Some recirc and vent. Some vent only. Some places have rules about venting only. Its pretty slack in my city. They are not that loud unless of course you hit boost and really I don't hit boost much in the 99TT.

I put twin turbosmart supersonics directly in place of the aps blow offs. They are much louder and better sounding and are not recirced. They are pricey though.

I like both Tial and turbosmart both top quality. Can't really go wrong with either one.

Which supersonics did you get and where? Did you notice any difference other than the sound?

I got them off ebay that was a while ago forget where. They were the turbosmart Kompact series unrecirced style. they are plug and play into my aps kit.
Noticed anything..well they are louder .I was running the aps bosch unrecirced also.
Its possible the aps leak at higher boost that might account for the one dyno of the synergy getting high numbers on dyno. There is zero other reason for one blow off to make more power than another one unless they are leaking under boost.
This problem happens with the talons..the 2nd gen stock blow off can't hold much past 10psi. the 1st gen can hold around 17psi and guys crush it to get it to hold more.
But most switch to quality aftermarket when running the big boost like 35psi.

Turbosmart also has the megasonic but its not in the kompact plug and play style. My supersonics are like 250 each.I might even get some turbosmart 38 gates they might fit better with the 4l80 swap. Its very tight in there with tials from the pics i have seen.

Turbosmart supersonic also adjust with no extra springs just simple dial. My tial you have to play with springs a bit still simple really.
I really do have to take some video of my car maybe in a few weeks since its down right now for the auto swap. Course you won't be hearing the blow offs near as much with the auto but such is life.

Did you get the 20 mm or 25 mm ones?

What did you block off the inlet tube hole with?

25mm ones. Perfect fit plug and play. Well you just adjust them with twist dials.

I got block off plugs from home depot. They are for table leg protection. They fit perfect.
Rercic has nothing to do with any lag. And our cars are blow thru maf so venting not recircing is not needed. Recircing is only done for reasons of quietness . On my talon car can run a bit rich and stuff if you run non recirced since its blow thru maf.

Mike guy with white GTA ,master power turbo ,ebay headers I think pretty sure jgs blow off and think gate?
He sold the car now so not sure who bought it or where it is.I ran decent low 11s almost a 10 at mid 120s I think for trap speed.
