Just pulled off the .68 housing and I was surprised how small the opening is past the flange as it enters the turbine. Side by side comparison with a .81 off a T67 and the .68 looks similiar or smaller. That's alot of exhaust thru a small opening.

I think that might explain why my car pulls like crazy and just goes flat on top. 10psi about 520 crank horsepower and it's struggling on top.

Going with a bigger A/R I think it's to much back pressure.

Mike13, what was the result of this? what AR did you end up with, and did it fix your issue?

we did an on the dyno swap from a .68 to a .96 housing on a mp70. this was a 5.3 with only valve springs. ignore the first part of the chart, i think i rolled into at different rpms.

i think what it comes down to is that a ptrim exhaust wheel will only flow soo much and that the different a/r's are just for fine tuning. to get any real diference you need to step up to a q or s trim exhaust wheel.

that being said i dont think a .68(ptrim) is going to hurt you that much compared to a .96(ptrim).

Ended up with a .96, it spools almost as quick as the .68. I haven't had a chance to really open it up but from 50-90mph it pulls MUCH harder. Even the exhaust tone at idle sounds different. From the advice I got from different turbo vendors and experts they said they run the .68 when they go twin turbo.

Also the turbine wheel according to turbonetics is a F1-68. I'm no expert but changing the housings made a night and day difference.

.81 is as small as we will go on a rear mount LS based setup. .68 is a waste and causes high EGT's.

It runs so much better, I didn't think the .68 would fall of like it did, I thought I would loose a little on the top but not just have the motor nose over like it did.
