as for radial its up in the air . im still really making a pros and cons list of back halfing the car as this will be a street car that will see some street/freway action and frequent 1/4miles .. its not being built to race or compete in any classes .. well not yet at least ..

Concerning the rear end, an option I was exploring early in my build was running a viper IRS rear end. It has been done successfully in the 3rd gen rx7s on several occasions. I went as far as to buy a complete viper rear but ended up selling it off after deciding to tame down my build and power goals and so went with the 8.8 w/detroit locker.

It's clear that 106mm + 8.8= timebomb. The viper rear will stand up to the 106 all day and be MUCH easier and affordable and street friendly than doing a complete backhalf, full tub etc. Modify the samberg cobra cradle, piece together some axles and you're good to go.

im sure the 8.8 with better guts could hadle it they do build spools for the right ? .. but then again everyday i see more progress on the car and also see the power potential a full backhalved car is what this project is going to lead to ... hopefully i can make up my mind by that time .. lol .

I know this question is probably kind of elementary. But I am just learning how turbo motors go together. Can you tell me what materials were used for the exhaust manifolds? Are they stainless, mild steel? What about the material where the flange bolts up to the heads. BTW, great looking welds, and awesome build

That 106 is massive. I wonder how it compares size wise to my S95? I guess I should ask Phil.

the S95 is based off the simlar housings as the S400 base unless you have a special FI-X housing might want to ask jose from forcedinduction.net bout that one

It is. I should simply ask Phil since he is the one I bought it off of. He replaced it with a 106.
