Default ysi vortec supercharger oil residue at intake pipe

i have noticed an oil problem at the supercharger intake side of the supercharger . both valve cover breathers do go to a catch can with a breather , not connected to supercharger at all. there must be a leak in the unit . there is oil going through intercooler and intake has oil residue present. any thoughts would be great .

What type of air filter are you using ? I suspect an "oiled" K&N style cotton gauze ?

Mine does the same.

I have oil residue on the intake outer wall of the blower inlet. In almost a spiral pattern. Although my discharge pipe and IC are pretty much spotless.

I've had three brand new Vortech head units and they have all done that. It doesn't seem to add up to much and doesn't cause a problem.

i do have an oiled k&n filter, but the oil is the same as the engine oil colour .

is this issue due to an internal leak that requires new seals or something

Ive had my blower apart a few times. There is oil as described on blower intake, but teh blower itself, is totally spotless.

The blower is not leaking oil. The only place oil could posibly leak, is at the back of the compressor itself where the shaft passes through to the gearbox, which would then fling out coating only the discharge. The only way oil can get to the intake mouth is from an external source.
