intercooler idea
intercooler idea i dont know much about turbo setups yet so bare with me if this sounds stupid, i was thinking in air to water intercoolers ive seen guys put ice in there and i know if you mix salt and ice its like 5 times colder if you did that in the intercooler would that make a big difference or maybe use dry ice in there.sorry if this sounds stupid. -tony-
It's all been done. The Aussies do a lot of stuff with dry ice. I've also seen combos of alcohol and dry ice, and I think acetone and dry ice. Ice and salt isn't 5 times cooler but It is a possibility as the salt lowers the freezing point of water. You'd need to protect your aluminum tanks and stuff against corrosion, but there are some (literally) cool possibilities out there. People have also done 1-shot tanks of liquid nitrogen through a regulator and then cooling an A2A IC enclosed in a box.

Anodizing the aluminum stuff is pretty inexpensive and protects against salt and alcohols no problem. Get the right lines and pump then you are all set. Most marine bilge pumps are salt water and low temp rated, and not too expensive.
