I sold my Eboost 2 and stepped up to the AMS-1000.

Save your money and buy the AMS the first time. Everyone that is serious ends up there anyway. I bought the AMS500 for my street/strip setup. It's super basic. Set launch boost. Set ramp time. Set final target. Done.

All the other controllers that I have seen you have to bump up the "duty cycle" in order to achieve your desired boost. With the AMS you tell it the boost and it figures out how to get you there. Customer service is outstanding. I called them at 6:30 at night and Sebastian talked to me for 30 min about all my questions. He told me that a 10 oz CO2 bottle lasts about 30 passes. I ordered my CO2 yesterday.

Um yeah the ams 500 is cheaper than the eboost2 and the ams 1000 is a few hundred more, worth it IMO when you read what it can do.

Here are some pic's of mine installed.
I bolted it to a thin piece of metal and glued it to the plastic console. I can still unbolt it so it's removable.

Nice system but personally don't like the mounting solution. Way too cluttery with all those fugly wires showing. They really need to come out with a nicer display controller.

Eboost2 is so nice and clean in a ta if you put it in vent but of course not as many features.

It would be nice if they offered some molded plastic endcaps to cover up the industrial looking blocks on either end.

EB2 has a CO2 option in the works for hard core drag racers. You can do boost by time now like the AMS1000, but you can not set a ramp rate since you do not have CO2 control....but it will soon.

Everybody told me i needed the Co2 so I got it. I have looked at the logs on back to back runs with the same tuneup and I can see no difference with or without the Co2.
My system has a check valve so it will run on manifold pressure if the Co2 is off or runs out. My system seems to have very low backpressure maybe thats the difference. I get 7-8 psi from a 5 psi spring using a tial 60mm wastegate.
Truthfully I like the look of all the wires, My wife said it looks like the hoses on predators head. It looks better after the cars interior was complete.

Approx how much is the AMS1000 controller? And the AMS500 unit?

Doesn't BigStuff3 have all this built in anyway?

How easy is it to setup the ams1000. Especially for gear-referenced boost? I have a m6 and would like to be able to dial back the boost in the low gears and how hard the boost hits (boost ramp).

I've been looking at the exile msbc-1 controller. Anyone running that one? I was looking at that one over the ams1000 because it looks to be a lil easier to setup.

I'm going to be mounting mine in the spot where the hvac controls are in my C5. We're going to switch to a different head unit, delete the useless cubby hole/cig lighter, move the HVAC controls into that spot, and mount the ams1000 face in the middle between the headunit/hvac. A little custom fiberglass work and it should look nice and clean.

AMS1000 was $867 shipped direct from manufacturer.

The higher you go in the boost, the more fluctuation you would see w/o CO2. I was trying to run 12 psi on a 7 psi spring and my logs showed constant oscillation between 11 and 13 psi. It starts to correct against itself as you are fluctuating the source boost that it is trying to use in order to control it. You'll also need the CO2 if you want to push 20 psi with that same 5 psi spring.

I was pushing 17-18 psi with the 5 psi spring and no Co2

Can someone explain how these boost controlers work and what they're for. Might be a dumb question but I have no clue what they're for
