What are the big #'s being made with truck manifolds?
This whole truck exhaust manifold thing really has me intrigued.
I've read about guys making 800-900 and a little over 1000 hp with the truck manifolds.
Just wondering what the most power people have made with them.
Has anyone switched from truck manifolds to custom built headers after making big power with the truck manifolds to see what kind of power increase there was?
I'm slowly building my turbo set-up with a billet 94mm and I'm down to header fabbing.
Building headers isnt that big of a deal but if the truck manifolds will work then why not use them.
I'm looking for around 1300 rwhp from this build.
Thanks
Chris

I think Mark is the only one that has been on a chassis roll with his "Ohio boys" car. He made 1300hp with his 6 litre engine last year in full boost mode, this year he ran a 1000hp average on 15psi.

He is running a little over 30psi in his quarter mile runs. He would run more if he could, but he is out of turbo and the MLS head gaskets are crying now!We will be upgrading a few things this year when it comes back for freshen up, but the basic combo will stay intact.

I think Mark was the last car to go on the dyno challenge and he just had to top high 700 rwhp range to win. That's why he only went to 15 lbs. I see all these cars with tubular headers that only gets bottle necked with the relatively small T6 turbo entrance. That to me + the heat holding of cast pieces seem to me to be the reason that they don't seem to do any better than the truck manifold setup, my .02.

I don't think we really know where the limit is yet. I'm making around 1850-1900bhp and Mike Brown is closer to 2000bhp or maybe more. As far as I know, we are only ones that pushed them that far and trust me, they will be pushed even harder next year .
