Max boost on stock motor?

Default Max boost on stock motor?

Right now im running 9.5 psi and i would like to run a little more, how much will the stock block and stock heads take, if i can do more will it shorten the life of my motor a lot, what would i have to add to support more boost.

Anytime you increase the power of the motor you'll decrease it's engine life to a degree.

would i be able to run any more than 9.5 psi or should i just stick with what it is?

Its all in your tuning! No matter what kind of car you drive, one can make an extra 75hp with the same amount of boost. Have your car dynoed. Make sure you have the right a/f ratio before you up the boost anymore.

In order to run more boost, you would need an injector upgrade, fuel pump, regulator(I have one for sale) and maybe larger fuel lines(-6 or -8). Do you have a boost gauge? What about fuel gauge? I highly recommend an egt gauge(exhaust gas temp) if you don't have one already. Last question, do you have an intercooler? If not you should purchase that before anything else.

ask 30thTa436 they are making really good numbers on a completly stock engine. I don't now exactly what their boost level is, but they're making 629RWHP with a G-Trim

It wont last long on a stock bottom end. I ran 11 psi on a stock bottom end for a couple months and then started to have a big issue with blowby. Cracked three ringlands but the motor still ran. Finally blew a head gasket about 2 weeks ago and now i am bought a low comp 383. Never will i go with 98 heads again either. Its just borrowed time in my opinion on a stock bottom end.

Do you know what was the cause of you blowing the headgasket Nasty? What injectors,fuel pump,etc..... do you have? Seems like alot of people on here, have dipped into the 10's on a stock motor without problems.

When dealing with a turbochargd motor, one needs to be a little more careful than just cranking up the boost. Take more precautions, like purchasing the gauges, tuning and fuel necessities. You car could like twice as long.

right now im making 480RWHP and i am running the stock in tank pump and the inline t-rex pump, i do have a boost gauge and its hooked up. i also have a air/fuel gauge but not hooked up yet, and i am running an aftercooler with an aftermarket front mount water cooler.
