I am also going to change out the stock shifter. It is to easy to miss 2nd gear and go to third with this reverse manual valve body. I get nervous when racing somebody and usually search for 2nd.LOL!
Keep in mind I am also running on 17x11 and 17x9.5 ZR1 wheels , so I am sure that adds some weight as well.
I believe the suspension is working, just not for the track yesterday. I didn't change anything from memphis to SDR.
The bigger tire will help.

Thats even more awesome with 17 what tires are you running??

4k lb is pretty damn heavy
That must be a very friendly scale. My car weighs 3450. No back seats. No front or rear bumber. No A/C or heater. No ABS. No cruise control. I also trimmed out all the extra metal behind the front fenders and cut the horns off that hold the front bumper in place.

I do have a S60 rear that is a good bit heavier than stock. A massive A2A IC and the turbo system. And an iron block.

If his car is 4k lbs then it is.. but a stock ta weighs 3400-3450.
You are mixing up raceweight and car with no driver. Even if empty ta was like 3450 I weigh 250 so thats 3800 right there raceweight. Now gas is heavy too so not sure if when they weight ta stock they have full tank in it.
Then as said you add stuff..I also have iron block ,dana 60, 4l80. twin turbo kit, heavy intercooler. Heavy stereo which may or may not take out for track runs. Heavy crome 17 inch mags. And likely soon a six point and not likely chrome moly cage. Also subframe connectors, steel driveshaft ,heavier torque arm.'
It all adds up to a big fat TA. I have not weighed mine yet or gone to track but sure raceweight is likely to be 4000 or above. I could take out some stereo, front seat, back seats, mats, run 1/4 tank, etc.etc but really don't want to do that ,want to see what the car can do in pure street trim with all the comforts..

I do have a gutted race talon that is trailer to track car. That one has been put on a serious diet. Think it will be about 2800 or so raceweight. They are 3200 or so stock.
But 100 pounds only shaves off a tenth or so. So yeah when you are talking 4000 pound raceweight ta versus say a 3400 pound raceweight z06 then its like 6 tenths from the weight diff. But every 10 hp is a tenth so really all you need is more power..and with FI its not hard to add more power. In fact its pretty easy to have more power than you can hook up or your other parts like engine block, fuel system, etc can handle.

My car is a heavy pig..But ITS A FAST HEAVY PIG..! And when I spank the stock light new z06 guys they will be shaking their heads but hey thats fine with me.

Sounds like someone has an 8sec car as soon as they can get on the brake & get the suspension tuned.

Guy's I don't know why thwe car seems to be heavier than alot of other's, but i can honestly tell you that absolutley nothing has been removed EXCEPT for the spare tire, jack and wiper's! That's it. The only change I am making to the car in appearance is a set 15x10prostars that are going to be black in the center and going with a 275-60-15 MT Drag Radial. This will be my true street setup at the shootout next year! 35lbs. of boost should get me below my 8.50 goal after seeing what just 23lbs of boost will do on the footbrake!

It ain't that overweight, mine is 3885 without me in it, and 1/4 tank of fuel.

My C5 Corvette with a full cage , turbo , big air to air IC , 4L80E Trans and me in it (295lbs) is 3778lbs , give or take a few pounds for fuel . So I can definitely see an F-Body with an iron block and everything else that car has in it being 4000+lbs .

Nice MPH !
