Default High Boost spark plug question

At what point does a TR6 start going out?
Is the TR8 suggested for 17-20 psi?

I used my TR6's gapped at 28 to 18psi with an ST80 without issue. Car went bottom 9s at 150ish

I melted a TR6 plug and the tune was perfect. I run BR7EF plugs now, coldest resistor plug I have found.

I wouldn't use a TR6 much over 700rwhp. The TR6 has a projected tip, and with boosted motors you really should use a non-projected tip spark plug.
TR6-7-750rwhp
TR7-750-900rwhp
TR8-900-1100rwhp

You should get the idea. Alot of people run more boost and make more power with a hotter plug, but it's not safe to do so. Keep this in mind. A spark plug is designed to pull heat out of the cylinder as well as give spark.

TR6 is no good above 600hp imo. TR6's have a projected tip, (basically the porcelain sticks out past the base of the plug). this promotes detonation. i actually ran a 10-range NGK plug this year. I may try a 9 range for my next set, but again, stay away from projected tip plugs once you start making serious power

edit: OOPS, i pretty much said the same thing hunter02ss said, lol

I've been running TR8's since I had spray. I would run them NA also and never noticed a down side to it.

Just to clarify BR7EF is the part # for a NGK 7 heat range, non-projected tip with a resistor. I buy them at napa.

I ran TR8's in my car, but they messed with my radio and door locks (cause they have no resistor), so that's why I run the 7's
