I have a torchmate 2 Gantry kit and thermal dynamics plasma. I built the water table and its 4x8. So far its been a pretty sweet machine. I've built all the brackets and flanges for this build with it. Cuts my fab time literally in half!!

Cool I just bought the Thermal Dynamics 39. Do you mind telling me what it cost and where you bought it from, and did you adapt it to use a standard gun or do you have a vertical torch?

Also, you should post your build on the sister site of LS1tech, Performancetrucks.net. Those guys would love this! Good FI section over there too!

I have the same setup with a cutmaster 51. I make everything from brackets to a life size moose out of 1/4 inch plate. my whole setup with me bulding the table was $14k. that is turn key with a PC and everything. If you buy the gantry kit you can beat up torchmate on the plasma price. They dumped $700 off the top of the price. I used a machine head. They kick ***. Not trying to highjack just like these tables

I paid 15K for the gantry, plasma, and all the cnc system. I have a machine torch head but they have adapters so that you can use your hand held plasma. they make smaller tables like 4x4. Would be a lot cheaper. I bought it directly from torchmate. I'll post it over on pt.net when I get home.

What do you use for design software? I use Rhino 3D and then just import it. Sometimes it tries to cut the same path 2-3 times unless I modify the G code

I use auto cad to make my drawings and then I import them to torchmatd cad to set the tool paths.

did you put any baffling in your fuel tank? not trying to be neg but we lost a piston on a full boost launch with less than 1/3 tank of fuel because the fuel sloshed in the stock tank. went lean for a second and thats all it took. Nice fab work though.

No, no foam in the tank yet. Not sure if the foam needs to be all the way to the top of the tank or just half way. Any thoughts?

the fuel cells are uaually up to the top. I guess you could use it 1/2 way up if you had a way to keep the foam on the bottom of the tank.

little update... put the cab and the bed back on the frame and moved it over to the lift. Now just need to finish up the 4 link and finish runing the exhaust to the back of the cab.
