Default What size pulley to get 7 psi?

I have a P1SC and had a 4.10 pulley and was making about 2 psi. Now I have a 3.40 pulley and I'm seeing 4.5psi. I want to see 7psi ~ my question is should I go with a 3.2 or a 3.0 pulley to get there? MODS are listed bellow.

Thanks

If you're still on a stock motor then going to a smaller pulley probably wont fix your problem. You must be getting belt slippage. When I ran a 3.7 pulley I got 8psi when I fixed my belt slip problems. Now I run the larger MMS crank pulley along with a 4.38" sc pulley to get 8psi. You have the P1SC which will show a little less boost than a D-1 using the same pulley but that should not be more than 1 or 2 psi difference at that boost level. I would think the pulley you are using now should be more than enough to get you to 7psi if you eliminate the slip that is most likely happening.

How would you know if belt slippage is happening? I hear no squeaks, no change in boost patterns, how do you know???

My friend's car:

2000 SS w/SLP long tubes

3.2 inch pulley with a P1SC = 7 lbs of boost!

450 HP for his best pull thru a Ford 9 inch rear!

What brand belt are you using first off?? If its gates then ditch it. Go with a GoodYear Gatorback belt. You can buy them at Autozone for under $20 bucks. I would snap Gates belts in about a week. For belt tightness the best person who described it to me was BlackLS1TA. Grab the belt with your index finger and thumb and try and twist the belt. If you can move it more then 90 degree's its to lose. I did that and saw more boost and the wierd thing was belts didnt create alot more dust. They still create some but im on the same belt now for over 2 months. I have a D1-SC but with the 4" pulley i saw 4psi and with the 3.2" pulley i saw 7psi and then i switched to the MMS crank pulley and put the 4" pulley back on and saw 11psi. Depending on your goals later down the road and what you want to do with your car maybe look into a Cog set-up like i am doing. Just my .2 cents
