Default Best intake mani for boost??

I did a search on intakes and came up empty - I apologize if this has been covered somewhere.. I may be blind

Just curious what intake manifolds/elbows/TB's that people are using.

Trying to decide on my own build - obviously looking for best flow so more power @ less boost.

My build is going to be 370ci/turbo cam/big turbo/317 heads for now. ThAnks in advance!

That question is too general. There are many ways to skin the cat. An LS6 monifold will give you lots of low end but not carry as well. A Vic Jr with an elbow will give you less low end but will carry higher. It all depends on where you want your power band.

I was told a few years ago when i was going to sell my LS6 intake for the vic jr that it flows better for high boost applications and is actually easyer to tune with? The only down side i saw was the price and the cutting of the cowl which ive seen alot of guys do on here where you cant even tell
Im still thinking of doing though ,,,just for the look

Yea doing a little cutting under the hood or just getting a cowl hood isn't a big deal to me.

Buy a used sheet metal Hogan intake somewhere and be done with it. And be able to go HUGE hp. Plastic intakes have limits.

Dont need to cut the cowl if you run a sheet metal elbow made to clear it.

Thats what I'll be running. Made to fit my stock Bo White p/p TB.

one question that would keep it broad would be Street only, Track only, or both?

I dont think the motor will to to picky on an intake with a boosted application.... although i could be wrong...

obviously a better flowing intake is going to make more power, theres no way around it... but how much more? Is it worth spending the extra $$$$$$$

IDK i run the ls6 intake at 17psi on my setup...

Has any one tryed the Eldelbrock BOX STYLE INTAKE ELBOWS?

Looks like it will fit under the hood of an F-body, but I saw this and thought it was just to cool

Be carefull on your intake choice. Unless you have a small turbo that spools real early, that victor jr could be a real pig out of the hole, specially with an M6 behind it. I used to subscribe to the intake doesn't matter theory on FI applications until I saw that it was entirely incorrect.

I ran both the vic jr + wilson elbow and a super victor + wilson elbow...

both worked well for me...I think the super victor is a bit better based on plenum design though...

true that, the grand prix gxp guys usually gut the supercharger, leave the case and put on a turbo,,,,,But DAMN you should feel the difference when they switch the gutted blower for a NA style intake, spool times are cut in half and boost measured in the motor jumps a pound or two
