hmm, don't think I've ever heard this called into play between LS1 and LS7 lifters. Anyone else verify this? I ran LS7 lifters in my last boost motor, but they were never an issue when asking for pushrod length recommendations before. Thanks!

Why dont you just check the pushrod length and get it right the first time. Its easy just get the tool.

I'm probably going to end up doing that. SInce my motor is completely stock I figured I could probably find someone on here that has already done the checking and found a winner, which would allow me to order all of the parts at once rather than leave the pushrods, install everything else, check, order new pushrods and have to leave the car sitting there waiting for parts.... only reason I was hoping to order all at once

I would think the EPP blower cam would pick up quite a bit over a stock Z06 cam right? My Z06 cam right now is hurting me quite a bit up top. Way less lift and duration over a more agressive cam. I'll tell you shortly lol. My motor with the 317heads made 580. I plan on ordering the epp cam within 2 weeks for my forged motor but want to put it in my current one just to see what it does lol

okay what about 7.450 pushrods? I have a set of those from when I ran my '02 Z06 cam would that hurt anything? And I also have LS7 lifters

I say every individual setup should measure to start with. If 7.4's were optimal then why am I running 7.3's with ls7 lifters and EPP Blower Cam? Or are you saying the 7.4's will work but they might not be the perfect correct length for a perfectionist setup and give him the proper preload or are we just squeezing in the preload range? I also hear plenty of cases where 7.4's are sounding like sewing machines. Dont mean to beat it or sound like an *** I just like things perfect especially when you got 700+ past the wheels. I just believe in measuring each setup, suprises me sometimes how setups so similar are different in alot of the tolerances.

How much your heads are machined will affect pushrod length as well. Along with head gasket thickness. Best to measure to be sure.

Theres to many elements here ls7 lifter cups, and what TurboAV said, please measure and the reason I have said it twice is I bought TS 7.4's and had to sell them so I could get the 7.3's lost 25 bucks and had time down between install. Like you said you dont want time down then measure and get it right the first time.

x2 on measuring for the pushrods.. it takes so little time, I can't see why not to do it.

My stock LS1 with .006 milled 243 heads and LS1 lifters worked best with 7.3" (or was it 7.35") pushrods to get the desired preload.

No reason to limit yourself to 5/16" pushrods, either..
