Default High coolant temp after ATI blower

Any of you notice what temp you car runs at after an ATI system is installed. Mine gets in the 220 in stop and go traffice. Any suggestions to help this?

I have a poured block, a front mounted intercooler, and a D1.

Here is what I do to keep mine cool (just got out of the car from a 150 mile trip, some in stop/go traffic).

Removed the Thermostat. Yes, the car still runs fine after some tuning. Don't expect to pass emmissions like this though.

Black Magic Radiator Fan. This fan is used on alot of big blocks etc. I run it with my blower setup and it works out great.

The temperature of the coolant is always around 170-180 deg F.

i don't know about completly removing the thermostat. i live in phoenix and i did that once and the car started to gradually overheat no mater what i was doing, be it on the highway or in stop and go traffic. turned out the water was flowing too fast throught the radiator to be properly cooled down.
what i would suggest is a lower temp thermo. or putting a ristrictor in where the thermo. is.

nogo, what size fan are you running? any fitment issues? how much did it cost and do you have pics of it installed?

did you make sure you did not wire the fan backwards?

get the fan to kick on and then hold a piece of paper in front of it and see if it pushes it away or sucks it in.

many people have wired the fan backwards the first time.

if it is running correctly then you may want to try the dual spal setup. it has worked well for a guy I know here and I am now using it in my car as well. seems to work fine but of course it's winter right now.

I don't think the fan on the drivers side will fit because of the supercharger. the fan is supposed to be 4.25 inches thick.

Check the fans........ I have the D1-SC and we wrieed the fans backwards when we installed it and the car would get really hot. You having a 2002 you are way beyound 220 degrees since your thermo gauge in the car is way off. SPAL's are fans and they do work. they are dual 11" fans i believe. They flow just as much air as the stock fans did. Does the car cool down pretty fast on H-1 or H-3 when your going 65?? and then the temps jump up fast once you are in stop and go traffic?? If it does and when you open the hood is it hot as heel under there.....?? Then the fans are backwards. we followed the install manual and installed i they way it said and i ran hot. way hot. check the fan and make sure its pulling thru the radiator. I know it gets hot in Hawaii i lived there for 4 years and just left there last march. if thats not it then its that your not getting enough air across the radiator. i pulled all that extra plastic out from in front of the radiator an it helped alot.

Removing the thermostat on my car may work better being that the block is poured (ie cooling passages are about half full of compound), and the fan moves a hell of alot more air than the stock setup.

If the fans/radiator can't keep up with the heat rate, then removing your thermo is going to do nothing but cause problems.

On some of our other applications we run restrictors (basically an orifice plate) instead of a thermostat to keep things cool.

The Blackmagic fan is a single fan that is shifted over towards the passenger side of the radiator. This give the supercharger ample room and plenty of space for a custom supercharger intake.
