Better off with stock displacement LS2, or stroking it to 402 for twin 62mm turbos?

Do i really need to start a new thread that has the very same questions im looking into? Clogging up the already clogged up google searchs? Hell even many of the how toos are getting outdated with either broken links, photos that arnt accessible, or even betterbways to go things. Even what stock ls1 werent suppose to do, are doing things thatbseemed impossible 15 years ago. Who would have thought a bunch of junkyard 5.3L turbo builds would be the go to choice for cheap 1000hp builds?

Yes you do because of the exact reasons you mentioned....a bunch of outdated info in the old threads.

I will be that guy...

The most cubic inches the budget/rules allow is the route I’d recommend as long as the entire combo is well matched.

So would I...but when you see lots of people have problems with "built" motors....and all sorts doing crazy things with stock GM motors. I've said it a few times, it really does seem like GM do build the best engines !

I figured if the new trend was digging up decade old threads we might as well get crazy with it lol.

Hard to argue GM builds a good motor for sure.

I dont think people appreciate how difficult it is to get something full weight to run an ET.

You just need to make a trip over and fill up a shipping container with them and bring them back home. Then you can sell half of them to pay for the other half.

The logistics of that are just not as easy as they should be

This guy in Finland has some at not too crazy prices ( relatively speaking ). It'd probably be another 500 shipping to get to me though I'd guess. His prices are in Euros. As I dislike the notion of iron....

Almost tempted by this "core".....for a spare motor.
Just cautious about what some might consider a core motor. If the block was fucked for any reason, it'd be effectively worthless. Although he does have a couple of iron 5.3's at not too bad money.
At only 5.3 though, not really an option I'd like, although presumably they can be bored to say 4" ok ?

Alloy "core".

If you came over and picked up 10 motors from a cluster of junkyards co-located at $500 each near a port city, paid $10k to ship it back and import, plus travel and expenses of $5k, you're into 10 motors for $2k each (yes $ not Euro ) . How much do LS longblocks go for over there?

Oh they know that is why 90% of the cars at small tire events are fox body's. You think full weight is bad try full weight with an IRS. Make that a sh*t designed IRS to boot. I'm so happy to have finally solved the wheel hop problem and have ET street R tires on her now it's getting fun.

Serious people will spend a lot of money on light weight parts to save a few pounds here or there all while saying weight doesn't matter...LOL.

Or hack up their car claiming minor weight reduction when it's hundreds of pounds lighter than factory.
