Default EPP FI cam + 5.3

Any DIYers with LM7s/L33 gave this a shot? The EPP cam has been catching my eye lately and I think I'd like it more than a Z06 cam

We have a couple really nice 5.3l grinds. The EPP cam would be a little much for the 5.3l We have done a few 800+hp 5.3ls with FI too.

You have to be careful with the cams on the 4.8s and 5.3s unless you want to run an extremely loose converter. We have two 5.3l turbo grinds for street cars that work well in keeping the low rpm power. One sounds like stock and makes 30whp more then the ls6 at 8-10psi and the second will make as much as 45-50hp over the ls6 cam at 10psi. The bigger one has some chop too it though, but works well up to 900fwhp with the 5.3l and a long runner intake.

If you try to stab a cam in a turbo 5.3l in the 23x duration range it will be a turd when it comes to lighting the turbo up.

Mark K runs the smaller one in his Monte Carlo SS with a turbo 5.3l. He has run 11.0@127 with his on pump gas and its a pretty heavy FWD car to boot.

I would be interested to see how this cam does on a 5.3 with a smaller turbo...

A friend and I tried this before, and either cam was ground with a few degrees of retard, or it really was way too much for the 5.3. We lost what felt like a-lot of power with the swap vs a GT2-3 cam, put the GT2-3 back in and the power was back.

I just bought the epp cam from brutespeed, its the same grind from comp. We will see what it makes. I think it will be just fine, 5.3 with 6.0 heads e85 76mm turbo. If it does not work I will change it up. I plan on going 6.0 next year so I think with more cubes that cam will work great.
