Figures I would finish welding my down pipe today and be done welding stainless before I read this. I've been fighting that gray color thinking it was contamination doing it. I guess I know for next time.

Got my oil pan on, intake gasketed, headers on with gaskets and the crossover pipe one. Hopefully nothing has to come off again
Built my turbo support brace
Made up the down pipe. In hindsight I wish I would have done it out of aluminum. It would have been cheaper and saved over 10 lbs I estimate. To bad, but when I ordered the pipe I never realized it was an option.

Some Updates
Got to mounting the intercooler and rad. Because of my wastegate I had to kind of sink the intercooler into the rad support. I had to section out the top of the support where my hood pins are and replace it with some tubing. The old metal was bent numerous directions and very flimsy.
Made the lower brace so everything is independant from the front clip
Did the final welding on the downpipe

After some initial trouble welding aluminum I went and visited a local guy I know who's tips got things moving in the right direction in a hurry. Started with the cold piping. I'm still waiting for the flange for the turbo so I couldn't do it all.
After doing all the pipes I thought I was doing pretty well so I tackled something that had me a bit worried to do. The radiator. Sawed off the upper neck, covered it with a piece of flat, then added the the 2 bungs.
The other side will get a -16 bung now once I get one
Whipped up some hoses to add a touch more color
