Exclamation Has anyone ditched the ATI twin intercoolers for air to water?

I did some searching but apparently I fail at that.

I'm considering getting rid of the twin intercoolers and putting in an a2w system. Has anyone ever done that? Is there a company that makes a complete system? I'd prefer to keep the battery in the stock location and maybe mount the tanks down where the pads for the bumper sit.

I am not interested in a FMIC so a2w is the only other way to go. I don't really have a problem with intake temperatures now (I spray meth) but I'd like to reduce the amount of piping needed for the twin intercoolers.

Thanks.

I have a PWR 6x6 core A2W IC with 3" in and out I'll be selling soon (flows over 900 CFM). It's one of the barrell setups and is pretty simple to put in. Don't have a heat exhanger or pump though. You may want to look into a killer chiller as well, my buddy with a lightning has dropped his AIT's by quite a bit with that. Best of luck with the swap.

Thanks for the info. The F1-A puts out up to 1650CFM so I definitely want a system that isn't a restriction or I would just keep the twin intercoolers.

Steve, I'll try getting in touch with you this week.

THe A2W IC I have on my car is more than capable of an F1-C. It also fits in a bumper support nice.

Dose a cooler of that size and location not cause over heating problems? just thinking it blocks most of the rad off. How would you cool the water off for a road application?

Cheers,

Chris.

Is there no heat exchange in your setups?

Chris.

Not mine. It uses a water tank and ice. I only need it to stay cool for a short time. just over 8 seconds I hope We can add a heat exchanger.

We also have a big A2A that is good to 1300 HP. Will have pics of that soon in a bumper support.
