How much power can Ls3 block handle..

On a side note Flaco split his 408 iron block running only 20 psi. This was after pushing more then 35 through it on a different day. He is making 1400hp plus. I would say an alum block is good for 1000 or less. They are going to flex more then an Iron block,and when they do something else is going to break.
I agree about the GM heads all of them are thin and will have problems when making big boost or N2O hits.
I think GM rates most of their engines at 500-700 hp. Take a saftey factor of 1.5 and you have the limit

I have ET 4" bore LS-7 heads, I think the deck is much thicker than stock,
I was told to use ARP l19 Studs & Fel Pro MLS gaskets,

On a side note I have Titanium Intake valves, How are those with boost??

the stock ls2 block and liner have gone to over 1500hp and a few guys have even pushed to 1700-1800

Ive run alot of alum to 1k easy. the ls3 should be at least as strong as the ls2 block

but stock heads sucks all but ls9 then ls7 then 243

it is been told that ls3 stock block is stronger then ls2 but as you mentioned above about the heads will not last for long or not going to live with the boost

At 1500 hp you just pulled the pin on a hand gernade. I would stand back from it.

My buddy made 960rwhp with stock LS3 block, LS1 crank, budget rods/pistons and budget ported LS3 heads/stock intake/90mm TB and GTS76 turbo on e85 with $450 Treadstone 4" intercooler. No issues.... baby hydraulic roller with Morel linkbar lifters.... spins to 7800rpm. Awesome driveability.... and simply pulls nicely until you shift.

1000rwhp should be no issue with good fuel/tune.

stock LS3 block, callies dragonslayer, callies rods, Ross custom pistons, no pinned mains, arp stock size studs, all pro cathedral ports, mast intake, attention to detail, BIG solid roller and real street legal(.082 jet in a plate)

motor made 830hp at 9100 on the dyno, I shift it 8800, it goes through at 8990 that pass.... I am hoping to go in the 7's with it at the shootout.... hope the block will last at least that race....
