Default ETP 225 Heads...Need spring info asap

I am building a car with ETP 225 heads on them and my buddy ordered Patriot dual valve springs which are the same as the ones I run on my car. But the springs installed on the ETP heads are larger. Any one have any info? Do I need to return these springs and get other ones.....or can I use them?

you can use anything you want as long as you have the matching hardware...keep in mind that the valvetrain is heavier compared to OEM stuff since the valves are longer...

my 225s came with Crane 99893 1.46" dual springs...but you can't get those particular springs anymore...

If your retainers and locks are going to be re-used I would find spring that fit them. I agree that 135 on the seat is a little weak for those heads with that cam.

I hope that your buddy isn't running A/C if this is going into an fbody. The back plugs on the passenger side will be almost impossible to get too. Even without the coil packs on there.

The car that we had with these on there, the valve covers almost touched the A/C **** on the firewall. Taking the coil packs off didn't help at all.

I use Howards spring #98445 which are similar to the springs Fireball ran, slightly higher rate but they bind at 1.080 vs. 1.035, on the plus side they are dumb cheap, under $100 for 16

1.470 in. Outside Diameter, 399 lbs./in. Rate, 1.080 in. Coil Bind Height

The retainers are Manley ICD #23688ICD

I think they are installed at 1.750 and 155 lbs theoretical max of .670 lift.
