Default New LSX376 "Boost Ready" ???

Anyone tried GM's new LSX376 yet in boosted application? Overall cost appears pretty good (under $6K street price) and you get LS3 heads, Bow Tie block and forged pistons. GM used powder metal rods and cast crank - not sure how much boost you could put on it.

Thoughts? If it would hold 12-14 lbs I'd have to consider it.

The only thing I dont like is the powdered metal rods.... other than that it looks like a decent deal.

You can probably build a 370 for around the same price but with better "proven" parts

You are probably right here. Nice feature is the Bow Tie block - not sure why they didn't just upgrade the rods to forged and call it a day.

The block would be cool. Is it a 4 or 6 bolt head design? I'm in the middle of building a 370 and chose some pretty good parts. I'm sure its right around the same price, but im running compstar rods, arp head and main studs, wiesco pistons. All in all I'd just build a different motor...not that thats horrible or anything. I think you can just get a better bang for your buck.

I don't consider it boost ready. I love the new lsx block and plan on using it for my next build, but I don't see the point of having that block if you don't take advantage of the 6 bolt head design. the 376 is using 4 bolt heads, so it will push water just like a 6.0 will at a given power level. I think this would be a better suited NA motor with a small shot of n20.
