Question Did i mess up the rear main?

I didn't have my catch can system installed properly so i was pushing boost into the crankcase a few times. I got the catch can issue resolved but i am still leaking oil out of the rear of the engine. Think i damaged the seal? Is there anywhere else it could be coming from back there? I really don't want to pull the transamission again. If i do everything is coming out to get built.

Damn that sucks. How did you have your catch can routed?

Now it's fixed but i was missing a check valve. Now i am running a dual catch can set-up.

Drivers valve cover to vented catch can, then from catch can to pass rear valve cover.

Front of pass valve cover to pcv valve to catch can, then from catch can to check valve then to intake port

Capped off the TB port. Not running a line to the inlet either.

Most it saw was a spike of 6 at the manifold. but average of 5 #'s for very short pulls.

that doesent seem like it would be enough to push a seal. people run more than that on stock engines with no catch can and have no issues including myself on my first setup

Ya but did you open vent your crankcase? In his case he had boost pushed into the crankcase.

Yeah i am just hoping it is someplace else leaking. I found a leak on the oil block, but the oil is dripping off of the converter area (4l80). Hopefully it's just getting pushed back there by wind.

Chased this same issue for a while too, mine ended up being the valve covers were not sealing right, took them off and reinstalled them, and tat took care of things

Stick your hand behind there and touch all over the back of the valve covers and heads. Valve cover leaks are prety common.
Not sure if there is much truth to this, but I was told that if you keep on messing up rear main seals it could mean the crank shaft isnt properly balanced.

Well the back of the heads are dry. If that rear main is the problem. The stock 113k motor is coming out to get freshed up.
