Radiator - We have my stock radiator standing more upright than stock now. We made custom brackets to do this. There is enough room to potentially do this if you are removing a stock style airbox.

How would cutting out the piece across the top of the radiator and welding in a new one, farther forward like harlens setup affect handling?

playdoh, the longer you wait after the 'business' is done, the more laminar the flow will be and the less disturbing to the exhaust pressure.

well i started welding up the header still need to order the flanges but i have most the piping welded up. i used a old gasket to get the primary pipe spacing correct so it should be very close when the flanges come in. Also yes i did try it and it will fit theres about a 3/4in clearance from the wheel well and about a 1/2in from the steering shaft. Hopefully this weekend i`ll get a chance to get the pass side header and crossover built. Well what do you think is it gonna work?

im not sure how you are making those headers what is your plan to make them work, i read the thread and then look at the pics and am not sure.

is this going to be a single kit I am assuming?

just wondering about the entire idea
thanks

This is going to be a single kit just like TT kit, only using a header style manifold instead of the log.

How are you changing the wastegate location and where are you running the crossover pipe into the turbo? Just curious.

I`m gonna make a pass side header that exits to the front and run the crossover in front of the engine and y-into the turbo flange the wastgate will also be mounted after all 8 cyl. at the flange. I`d also like to mount the turbo a little higher but that all depends how much room i have after the crossover is installed and if i end up tilting the radiator forward.

MyTurbo, its looking sweet man. I should have my kit and engine put in sometime in Feb. Since your only in Orlando it would be sweet if you let me come out and check out all the custom work you have done on your kit. Keep up the nice work and let the updates and pics keep coming.

If you keep the radiator at an angle and maybe move some stuff around (remove a/c, move rad. forward a little if possible, maybe relocate ABS) you can probably put the turbo facing sideways vs. front-to-back. Could let you get a bigger turbo in or at least a tang. housing. Check out ptk's lt1 kit or maybe Jordan's old kit:

RyanJ, If i mounted the turbo sideways like that you think i`d need a scavenging pump for the oil. Has anyone ever made a seperate oiling system for a turbo. IMO all it would take is a tank, pump, oil cooler and a few lines.

Also would it be a good idea to try and locate the driverside O2 sensor pre-turbo?

I'm pretty sure Jordan did not use a pump (at least from what I read on the internet...ChrisB or Jordan would know for sure).

I don't think its a good idea to measure the air pre-turbo, I'm sure there's a reason no one does this. Actually, now that you have me thinking, why not...unless you are using a wideband with FAST or something, you should be able to read the air from each header separately. Hrmm...where does Harlan have his O2's?

I have removed my OEM switching O2 sensors and run open loop, they aren't really much good for me due to lead fouling

As for Wideband use, you should measure AFTER the turbo. Partially do to sensor temperature, but mostly because of pressure. The pre-turbo exhaust pressure will cause the sensor to read incorrectly, unless your wideband unit has a pressure sensor and compesates the reading for it. The Bosch style sensors are more sensitive to pressure, while the NTK style units are more temperature dependent. As a rule, for proper readings you should place them post turbo.

I knew there was a reason why I never see any sensors post turbo....
