+2 for Angie. They did the machine work on my motor. I put mine together but her dad brought my up to the shop, showed my how to file my rings, and answered any question I had. Great people!

+ 1000 for daves engine and machine . best in the westcoast !!!

and they arent expensive if you want to compare apples to oranges to the everyday run of the mill machine shop.

this is a RACE MOTOR shop. not mom/pops who let JR play with the milling machines .

every motor in there is aimed to be a high HP motor for that particular application. if its a honda motor, itll be 1 bad *** honda motor.

not to mention. Angie ranked pretty high in a head porting contests for Hemi's in a competition in hotrod mag in the past

newtech is a tuner who deals directly with most of the good shops. They are the LSx specialist. I would call them and see what they recommend.

nick also uses daves engine and machine. but If i were you i'd go through nick to have it done through angie. generally shops will get their things done a little sooner on the B2b schedule and Nick will also make some commission on the build, but you as a consumer will pay the same price =)

Daves engine and machine does not play nicely to lowballers or " give me a deal" folks. its get it done, get it done right or they won't take the job. They will not entertain a customers short comings, lowballs, or cutting corners. They rather do a job right the 1st time and do an outstanding job than make some $$ to do half assed jobs.

If you aren't in a huge rush IMO the best machine shop in the Bay Area is S&S Automotive in San Leandro. They build SERIOUS race motors for a worldwide customer base. The old lady that answers the phone can be a little tough.... but if you can't handle her.... then you must still have your mommy dressing you!

They can do just about anything you need and have build a number of engines for me and I know of probably 25 other guys running their work with no regrets from Buick Stage2 turbo V6 motors, BBC, Mountain Motors, LSx stuff etc.

They built my 364ci iron forged motor I plan to make 1000rwhp+ with. Complete confidence in them. Rick Santos (one of the brothers as this is a family business) used to race NHRA and did well, they also were the 1st SBC blown alchy dragster to run in the 7's I believe waaaay back in the 80's.
