Default 2007 5.3L Silverado...how much boost will she hold? Engine management?

Posting for a friend. He has the new style Silverado. Has 12000 miles on it. Pampered. Hasn't seen rain or snow lol.

Looking to turbo it next week.

How much boost will it take? We're aiming for a safe reliable level. What is the max boost it can take?

How much power will the tranny hold?

What do we use for engine management and tuning? HP Tuners? Any tuner you guys recommend?

EDIT: Sorry it's a 1500 with a 5.3L V8.

Parish8 has boosted the 5.3 in the fairmont to around 16-18lbs if i remember right. For a safe level you might want to stay around 10 lbs. Does this truck have DOD on it?

I have had the trans in fbody's in stock form live to 550 rwhp by just removing the torque management and upping the line pressure. So 550-575 is most likely the most to push.

I was told NOT to remove the torque management system because the tranny would blow at 400 rwhp?

Interesting.

I would keep some torque management in the truck as they are heavy. 500 to the tires is fine on pump gas alone. More then that I would run meth or good fuel.
