It's worth trading the sound of the lope for the sound of the spool. I would go with a dedicated turbo cam, or default to the old trusty LS6 cam. Much FI power has been made with an LS6 cam.

While I'll agree that a better cam may have worked even better, the 'too much overlap' Trak cam made good boost everywhere (in fact, we had more boost than we needed as it was a stock bottom end) and made 786 rwhp/700 rwtq at 11.5 psi, on a 346 with AFR 205s as it was running out of fuel system....not bad.

What are the specs of the TR Trak cam?

Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft
"TRak" - 231/234 .640/.590 112 LSA 2400-6800 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. 3200 stall, 3.42 gear, computer tuning required. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended. Comp 921 Valve Springs are highly

It is a thing you should do now. Trust me after you get this kit on and everything tight you do not want to go back in there. You may make 600+ on that cam but i would sell it and you should be able to pick up a better cam. I may have a GT2-3 on a 118.5 lsa for sale since i am stepping up to a 370.

So why is it that a trex won't work? Is the LSA wrong or is it the duration?

To add to what everyone is already saying - The mp70 is going to have a lot of backpressure, especially if you run it up towards its max. Overlap will be your enemy when pressure in the exhaust is higher than the intake.

^^Problem with the TRex is overlap - A combination of the duration and lsa.

Before the camera got to it the drivers side had a little glow too.

To the OP the EPP cam is a FI cam and will give you the lopey sound you want. It has been hard to get in touch with Bob at EPP lateley though.

I had my friend put this cam in a stock 6.0 lq4 with a valve spring upgrade and with a 76mm turbo he made 470rwhp on only 5psi of boost thru a 9in and 6spd.

Thanks guys, t-rex is sold and am ordering a custom grind from my tuner. He said somewhere around 230 duration/.600 lift and a 115+3 lsa. He will custom order for my combo.
