Default My build I driving me nuts!

And poor...lol I've been working on my build for two months now and it's starting to take it's toll on me. It seems whenever I get a little done I have to change or move something.

Like the coil bracket, I had to turn the passanger side coils upside down...but when I mount the bracket it hits the header. The battery had to b relocated to the trunk ... But I ran out of cable. I chipped my pully so I hade to wAit for another one. The plug wires have to go around the headers...so I had to get longer ones.

It is like 90% done but all this little crap is starting to build up and it seems like I can't keep up. It's a old hi flo turbo kit and it's a pain in the ***. So far I've had to rebuild the motor so it better be nice, I really think I'm already in like 8 grand.

How did u guys keep ur cool? Also I have no help and work bad hours and it's hotter then hell.

Don't put deadlines on yourself!!! I made that mistake during my build and all it did was frustrate me. Take his advice...step away for a bit. going to the track is great motivation!

im in the same boat man. i started in feb and now the indy street car shoot out is in two weeks and there is no way ill make it. i hear ya on **** not every going right. Seems like every time i get close something goes wrong. Hell i was ready to bolt everything up and start tuning, then the trans dies, lol. SO that was another 2k into the build that i didnt plan on. But hey, july 3 is probably my 5 deadline ive set for myself. LMAO

i just take it day by day and hope it comes together. My biggest hurdle now is my tuner is 2.5 hours away and i have zero time in the evening and 6 year anniversary on sat, and birthday party on sunday. **** this sucks.

hang in their man, itll come toegether, or else we will just sell it all and start over next year, Wait................. I did that already and now started again. lol

-finish wiring up the battery...in trunk
-build the second pump....fuel
-put the harness back on the motor/trans
-put the rad back in
-build the fmic
-get the coils monuted/wired...wont fit
-try to figuer out how the hell this meth kit works...clueless
-gauges
-fluids
-try to wire the BOV and WG...clueless
-build a dump pipe for the WG

One word, strategy. It's all about going in with as much info and planning as possible. It's like playing chess. You have to try and think everything out a few steps ahead. The first one is always the hardest. Even with experience and carefull planning, unexpected **** pops up. Just maintain forward progress no matter how small.

And remember, If it were easy, everyone would do it.

Just try to relax....it's just a car. I know you've got a good chunk of time and money into it (we all do), but the truth is....it's just a car. I started my project about 2 years ago, and now have about $30k into it....I'm sure that there are others on here with way more than me into their rides. When I started, I thought it would be about 1 year to build, and $10K. Well, Murphy's Law allways steps in and changes everything. Many times during my build, plans changed due to fitment problems (and parts bought that were $$$ no longer worked with the new direction) and some things had to be re-done 3 times....sometimes more. I know first-hand how frustrating it can be, but believe me...it's not worth letting it eat you up.

Besides, when the car is finally done and running like it should, all the trouble will feel worthwhile (at least that's what I keep telling myself LOL)

Yeah dude, what all these guys said. Sucks that the guy that sold you that kit didn't include all the stuff I had 'customized' to make it work on my car. I feel your pain! Lol

Ok so I got some of the harness done tonight, I finally feel like I'm starting to get somewhere.

Where does the two ground cables go that are off the right side of the motor connected to the maf clip??? Ones long ones short, can I just put them both to the motor?

I put my grounds to whereever i could get them to, as long as you have a ground strap going from the motor to the frame, it should all be tied together, be happy, your a LOT further along in your build than i am, i jsut got my intake to fit...running the new edelbrock pro flow.....
