Default Spark plugs for boost.

sorry...search turns up nothing specific on which plugs to use and it seems to show alot of Nitrous stuff.

402...l92 heads...running 8-12 lbs of boost...which plugs and heat range please?? ive read iridiums are bad but than someone else says they are perfectly fine, can never get a definative answer on that. i dont necassarily need to run iridiums so it doesnt matter but if they help in anyway than i wouldnt mind spending the extra dough. thanx for any help.

yo COP!!! from personal exp. shy away from the Irdiums. I had TR6's in the car, 9# of boost not a problem, got the same heat range in Irdiums, KNOCK KNOCK?!?!?!? MF"er spent that $$ on Irdiums and ended up giving them to a buddy.

I beat 99% of your answers are goin to be NGK TR6's. That is what I run now, 12#, that is what MikeP uses, and good ol Lt. Dan.

They are CHEAP!!! and work great. I just picked up a set of 8 two weeks ago for $20.

I would run an 8. You should be making enough power to run a mid 9 sec pass with that setup. I run the NGK 7317's.

I had 8's but I need a resistor......it was messing with my bcm and security system and door locks were going crazy. It was also messing with my in-dash tv. I have been running these 7's for awhile and have linked up 4 gears more than I can count and haven't had any problems so I'm sticking with them

But thanks for advice.....always welcome

Oh and to the op.....don't run iridium

Sorry have run iridium at high boost in my talons no problems at all. You do have to gap them down and do it carefully..around .028 or so usually works fine. They last way way longer than tr6.And as said you can go colder then you could with non iridium plug.I have ran iridium up to 7.5 psi in my 99TT and only put autolite 103 in there as they ddint' have any iridium in town when needed some plugs.I am most likely going to be running tr8ix this year already have them on shelf and boosting up to 20psi.
