Yes. I have installed pusher fans as well. Have a becool and it still overheats. Still have ac which blocks radiator.

Probably, but think Jeff (inspector12) was succesful in making an F1a notover heat using only a Lt1 radiator...I'm not that gifted.

LT1 radiator and upgrading to (2) SPAL fans instead of the stock procharger fan is what it took for my buddy to get his F1C car to stay cool.

if you dont have AC it will be a breeze! I have a spal pusher on the front of my radiator and the stock procharger fan assembly. And no AC condensor and my car never gets over 200*. I have stock thermostat as well with stock water pump as well.

I have an F1R and No I don't have any overheating issues even in summer months. It will get warm in traffic 215 or so, but thats about the hotest is gets and cools down once moveing again. sat in traffic on Sunday for about 1hr with out any issues. LT1 radiator SDCE fan set up or simular with the air deflectors in place.

sdce fan setup?

air deflectors in place?

to the op, from the research that ive done for a very long time. it seems like the spal xtreme 16" and a 9" spal fan pulling an having a 16" pusher on the otherside (with no shroud) along with a 160 t stat is the best for cooling. you could even throw in the lt1 with that setup while your doing everything which is what i will do when the time comes.

Here's a link to my Z28, which started out with an F-1A and then we switched it up to an F-1C. At the '07 LSX Memphis 35 mile True Street cruise, it didn't overheat and we had a Powerglide with a 5000 stall. Bob

No, we played around (we should of left it alone...) with a different camshaft profile and it turned out one of the mechanics at our shop, who swapped the cam, never replaced the valvesprings, which were the original AFR supplied springs! It also explains why the F-1C never gained us more boost over the F-1A. Every time I think about it I get a sick feeling in my stomach. I was so busy in the office I assumed the obvious... Bob

Jason:
I see alot of people recommending the LT1 radiator but there are several different kinds. OEM shows both the LS1 and LT1 are only 7/8 thick but Auto Zone sells a LS1 thats 1 1/4 thick. Do you know where your friend purchased his? I am in AZ. and its time for a cooling upgrade. I already ordered two Spal fans I just need a good radiator.
Thanks, Dave

Napa has the thicker core LT1 radiator

Just telling you what works for me.The other two fans might work just as well, but the deflectors I am talking about are the ones that go between my FMIC or what was originally the front bumper support that go to the top of the radiator/condenser. It forces the air through the condencer/radiator while moving etc... Hope this help you understand what I am talking about.
