Weiand LS1 Intake install
I have a 2000 Camaro. I am going to install a Weiand LS1 Aluminum Intake.
install says
"INSTALLATION OF WEIAND ALUMINUM INTAKE MANIFOLD:
1. LS6 engines do not need modification to the valley coolant tubes. 2000 and earlier LS1 engines do need modification. If you want to use the LS6 parts on your LS1 engine, the GM part numbers are #12578838 for the front crossover and #12563325 for the rear plugs. The rear plugs are called the LS6 head water cover and you will need a quantity of 2. If you want to use your stock coolant tubes, you can cut, flatten, fold, and braze/solder the coolant lines, as shown in Figure 1."
Is it a good idea to cut and block them off? will it hurt any thing?
also will my stock fuel rail work on it?

I believe what they mean is cut and block off the pipes connected to the back plugs, so the are just block off plates essentially. And then cut, fold, solder the middle pipe of the front cross over before it extends down the middle. This basically turns your '00 one piece crossover pipe into the later '01-'04 three piece cross over and plugs.
You still need to have the cross over in the front to get rid of any air pockets.
I believe the stock fuel rail fits, but I am not sure.

I have some gm block of plugs if you want them brand new in the bag. I used two ls6 front steam vent tubes, ran the back one to the front with 1/4" fuel hose then tied them together with a 1/4" brass T. After all the reading I did a lot of people say dont block them off.

The stock fuel rails will fit this intake. Bob

I had terrible luck with this intake on my turbo'd truck! I put it on a stroked ls1 & an 85mm turbo. If I got into full boost a few times on an outing, and let the engine cooled down. The next time id crank the truck, id have a vacuum leak. The heaT from the engine bay would make the aluminum intake exand and stretch the intake. The paper gaskets that come with the ink
